These Terms and Conditions apply to all service agreements where OC Movers and Packers has been requested to arrange the transportation of goods. By proceeding with a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following terms.

1. Definitions
In this document:

“We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to OC Movers and Packers, including its staff, representatives, and subcontractors.

“You”, “Your” refers to the individual or organization engaging our services.

“Services” means all offerings provided by us, including but not limited to moving, packing, storage, and related logistics.

“Goods” refers to the items being packed, transported, stored, or handled by us on your behalf.
2. Moving Services
We provide professional relocation services aimed at the secure and efficient transport of your belongings from one location to another. The scope and nature of these services are defined in your booking confirmation. We cater to both local and long-distance moves and offer specialized handling for delicate or high-value items.
While we strive to meet scheduled timelines, external factors such as traffic, adverse weather, or other unforeseen circumstances may impact our delivery. In such cases, we will inform you promptly and work to reschedule as needed. It is your responsibility to provide accurate and complete details regarding access to both pickup and drop-off locations.
3. Specialized Items
Items that require extra care—such as pianos, antiques, artwork, fragile pieces, or any object exceeding 200 lbs (90 kg)—must be disclosed in writing at the time of booking. This allows us to assess feasibility and make necessary preparations. Failure to disclose may result in damage for which we are not liable, or incur additional charges for equipment and specialized staff.
We reserve the right to refuse to handle certain items if deemed unsafe or impractical.
4. Customer Responsibilities and Assurances
By using our services, you confirm and agree to the following:

Accurate Disclosures: All information provided about your items must be truthful and complete, including any special handling needs.

Packing Responsibilities: Unless you have contracted us for packing, you are responsible for properly preparing your items. Fragile goods must be clearly labeled, and hazardous materials are not to be included unless approved in writing.

Permits & Accessibility: You must ensure all permits (e.g., for parking) are secured and that our team has unrestricted access at all relevant locations.

Presence Onsite: You or an authorized individual must be present during pickup and delivery to oversee the process.

Ownership: You confirm that you own the goods or have the authority to move them.
5. Delivery
We aim to deliver your items within agreed timeframes. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control. We will communicate proactively in such situations.
You are expected to inspect your goods upon delivery and report any issues immediately. If no one is available to receive the items, additional fees may be charged for storage or redelivery.
6. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled service. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a fee. If our crew has already been dispatched or work has begun, we may require compensation for time and resources already committed.
Advance payments may be refunded in line with cancellation timing and reason. Should we need to cancel due to factors such as extreme weather or safety concerns, we will either reschedule or offer a full refund.
7. Payment & Deposits (Local Moves)
A deposit may be required to secure your booking. This amount will be credited toward your final bill. Unless previously arranged, the remaining balance is due immediately upon service completion.
Payment methods accepted include credit card, bank transfer, and cash. Late payments may incur additional charges or result in withheld delivery. Any additional services requested during the move (e.g., extra packing or storage) will be billed separately and must be paid in full before final delivery.
8. Vehicle Requirements
We will select the appropriate vehicle type based on the information you provide. If the volume of items exceeds our estimate, additional trips or a larger vehicle may be necessary, which could result in extra charges.
Accurate descriptions of item sizes, quantities, and access limitations at the site are your responsibility. Any special logistical considerations should be discussed ahead of time.
9. Transport Method & Subcontractors
We reserve the right to determine how your goods are transported—including the choice of vehicle, route, and handling method. In some cases, we may engage subcontractors. These third parties will uphold our quality standards and carry appropriate insurance. There will be no additional charges for subcontracting unless agreed upon beforehand.
10. Insurance & Damage
We provide basic insurance coverage for loss or damage caused by our negligence. This coverage is limited and may not reflect the full value of certain items. For high-value or sentimental goods, we recommend obtaining additional coverage.
All damage claims must be submitted in writing promptly following delivery. Our liability is limited to the scope of our policy. We are not responsible for damage to items not packed by us unless packing services were contracted.
11. Risk and Ownership
Responsibility for your items transfers to you upon delivery. Once your goods are unloaded and delivered, we are no longer liable for their condition.
Ownership of the goods remains with you at all times; we hold no ownership interest in the items we transport or store.
12. Residential Moves & Storage – Damage/Loss
We take every precaution during private moves to handle your items safely. However, items that are fragile or not packed by our team are moved at your own risk. We recommend you secure additional insurance for items of high value.
13. Commercial Moves & Storage – Damage/Loss
For business relocations, our liability mirrors that of residential services but may be adjusted depending on specific contractual terms. While we make every effort to prevent loss, we are not responsible for damages caused by natural disasters, fire, theft, or external storage issues.
14. Packing Supplies
We offer packing supplies (boxes, tape, bubble wrap, etc.) for purchase. You may also choose to provide your own materials. If you pack your own items, ensure that they are adequately secured. We are not liable for any damage resulting from insufficient packing, even if the materials were purchased from us.
When you choose our packing service, we supply materials and use best practices to protect your belongings. Please alert us to any fragile or high-value items so we can take extra care.
15. Packing & Unpacking Services
Our packing and unpacking service is designed to simplify your move. You can choose full-service (we pack everything), partial packing, or unpacking at the destination.
We will place your items according to your instructions and dispose of packing waste unless you request otherwise. Responsibility for your items ends once they’ve been unpacked and placed in their final locations.
16. Storage Options
We provide secure, climate-controlled storage for both short- and long-term needs. Storage fees depend on item volume, duration, and any special requirements (e.g., frequent access).
All stored items will be inventoried, and you will receive a copy. Our liability for stored items is limited to our insurance coverage; we encourage additional protection for valuable goods.
Access to stored items requires prior notice. All storage fees must be settled before release. If payment is not made, we reserve the right to retain the goods.
You are responsible for inspecting long-term stored items periodically. We are not liable for gradual deterioration or damage unless it results from our negligence.
General Provisions

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of California. Disputes shall be resolved under the jurisdiction of courts located in Los Angeles County.

Severability: If any part of these terms is deemed invalid, the remainder shall still apply.

Modifications: We may update these Terms at any time. It is your responsibility to review the current version before booking services.

Entire Agreement: This document represents the full agreement between you and OC Movers and Packers. Any prior verbal or written arrangements are superseded.
